Welcome to Mr. Bullington's IB Computer Science

Sig IB CS welcomes you to the 2020-2021 school year! However, the site is constantly under construction, with input from Amanda!

Diploma Programme Computer Science students should become aware of how computer scientists work and communicate with each other and with other stakeholders in the successful development and implementation of IT solutions. The course emphasizes the need for both a theoretical and practical approach to the four core topics studied: system fundamentals (20 hours), computer organization (6 hours), networks (9 hours), and computational thinking, problem-solving and programming (45 hours). Signature students will also study Java in fulfillment of the course’s optional component, object oriented programming (30 hours).

AP Computer Science A

AP Computer Science A introduces students to computer science through programming. Fundamental topics in this course include the design of solutions to problems, the use of data structures to organize large sets of data, the development and implementation of algorithms to process data and discover new information, the analysis of potential solutions, and the ethical and social implications of computing systems. The course emphasizes object-oriented programming and design using the Java programming language.
